Helping Customers Make Smart Energy Choices

Energy efficiency plays a crucial role in how we support our customers today and in the future. By helping them use less energy in their daily tasks, energy efficiency helps ease the demand on the electric grid, supports a more sustainable energy future and eases monthly electric bills. For our customers, this translates to improved overall costs and more confidence that we’re investing in solutions that support them.
At DLC, energy efficiency is a customer-focused approach that prioritizes value and reliability. Whether our customers are upgrading or recycling their appliances or tracking energy use more intentionally, we’re committed to providing the tools and incentives that will benefit them most.
Residential Rebates
Our Residential Rebate Program helps customers invest in energy-saving upgrades that improve the comfort of their home while lowering long-term energy costs. Through these rebates, customers are encouraged to select high-efficiency options that can reduce energy use and deliver long-term savings.
Examples of residential rebates include:
- Building insulation: Up to $400
- Programmable thermostats: $50
- Refrigerators / Freezers: $10
- Dehumidifiers: $20
- Air conditioners: Up to $250
- Heat pumps: Up to $425
- Heat pump water heaters: $300
It’s important to know that rebates apply to qualifying, energy-efficient equipment installed within 180 days prior to application. All equipment must meet program specifications and be installed by May 31, 2026, or until program funds are exhausted. Once approved, rebate checks are usually mailed within 60 days.
Recycling Old Appliances
Our Appliance Recycling Program makes it simple for customers to dispose of older, inefficient appliances at no cost. We offer free pickup by a certified recycling crew that inspects and safely removes eligible appliances from a customer’s home.
Rebates that are offered include $50 for each qualifying refrigerator, freezer or room air conditioner, or $35 for each qualifying dehumidifier. This offer is only available to residential customers, and appliances must be working, owned by the customer and meet size requirements (e.g., 10-30 cubic feet for refrigerators and freezers). In addition to a rebate, customers also can reduce energy use and save up to $150 each year.
