Easy Ways to Take Charge of Rising Electric Costs

Homes nationwide are experiencing higher electric supply rates due to changes in the energy market. While Duquesne Light Company (DLC) doesn’t control these costs, we can provide you with tools to help keep costs down.
Manage Your Energy Use
Simple actions can lead to conserving energy and saving money on your electric bill. You can view your electric consumption with My Electric Use on our website or the free DLC Mobile app. You can see your home’s daily usage details and temperatures as well as complete a home energy analysis.
Review your usage patterns to uncover potential savings. Get a detailed breakdown of your highest energy costs and compare your current usage with your previous bill and last year’s bill. Discover practical tips for saving energy, including seasonal tips to help you cut costs year-round.
Supplier Shopping
Market factors are forecasted to continue impacting supply rates (also known as the “Price to Compare”). You may be able to secure a lower supply rate by shopping for an electric generation supplier. Learn how to shop for a supplier, compare costs and sign up for alerts on our website when your rates change.
Budget Billing
Life is unpredictable, but your electric bill doesn’t have to be. Budget billing helps level out the fluctuations of your monthly bills so you know how much to expect each month. When you sign up for budget billing, your monthly payment will be the average of your previous 12 months of bills divided by twelve.
