PITTSBURGH — Duquesne Light Company (DLC) is preparing for potential severe weather this week. The Pittsburgh region is expected to see strong thunderstorms today, March 11, with the possibility of wind gusts reaching nearly 60 mph, hail and isolated tornadoes. The National Weather Service is also calling for high winds on Friday, March 13, with gusts expected to reach 40-45 mph.
Damaging winds can have an impact on electrical equipment and potentially result in power outages. DLC has increased staffing this week to ensure that any outages are safely responded to as quickly as possible. Because of possible hazardous conditions, some response times may be delayed during the weather events.
