Duquesne Light Company Relocates Headquarters to Pittsburgh’s North Side

The move to Nova Place strengthens community connection, drives collaboration and supports the region’s energy future

Duquesne Light Company (DLC) has officially opened its new headquarters at Nova Place on Pittsburgh’s North Side, marking an exciting new chapter for the company rooted in innovation, collaboration and community connection.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 27 brought together employees, local leaders and community partners to celebrate DLC’s move to one of the region’s growing hubs for technology and innovation.

“This is a historic moment for Duquesne Light Company,” said Kevin Walker, president and CEO. “Our move to Nova Place reflects where we’re headed as a company: staying close to our operations, investing in our people and strengthening our connection to the communities we serve.”

DLC’s new headquarters is in close proximity to several of its operational campuses; its sister company, The Efficiency Network; and local innovators such as Gecko Robotics, Expedient, Innovation Works and Confluence, opening the door for new partnerships and shared ideas.

At the ribbon cutting, Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O’Connor highlighted DLC’s continued investment in its workforce and the region. Other local and state leaders, including State Sen. Wayne Fontana, Allegheny County Councilman Jordan Botta, City Councilman Bobby Wilson and State Rep. Aerion Abney, also shared their perspectives on DLC’s role in the community, emphasizing the company’s commitment to safety, continuous improvement and staying connected to the people it serves.

A Modernized Workplace

The new headquarters is designed to bring employees together in a more flexible environment that supports innovation and teamwork. Featuring an abundance of open, shared spaces, there are more opportunities for collaboration along with improved amenities and access to natural light.

With the help of partners like Nova Place and Wall-to-Wall Studios, the year-long renovation and move-in process created a modern workplace for approximately 580 employees.

“Our move to Nova Place is about more than a new building,” Walker added. “It’s about creating a space where our employees can do their best work, where partnerships can thrive and where we continue showing up for Pittsburgh in meaningful ways.”
