DLC’s Procurement & Supply Chain Team Recognizes Supplier Partnerships Driving Innovation, Reliability

Strong supplier partnerships help power the safe, reliable service our customers depend on every day. DLC’s Procurement & Supply Chain team recently welcomed supplier partners to our Woods Run campus for a Supplier Recognition event. At the event, team members celebrated the collaboration, innovation and dependable support provided by our suppliers.

The event also reflected DLC’s continued focus on affordability and responsible stewardship, while recognizing the significant role suppliers play in advancing customer service, infrastructure reliability and innovation.

“Our supplier partners play an important role in helping us safely and reliably serve our customers,” said Rhonda Mummey, Manager, Responsible Procurement. “This event gave us an opportunity to recognize the collaboration, innovation and dependability that strengthen our operations and support our shared commitment to delivering value to the communities we serve.”

Recognizing Supplier Excellence

Working closely across teams, the DLC Procurement organization recognized suppliers in four award categories highlighting outstanding performance, innovation, safety and reliability.

The event began with the Safety Excellence Award, where Nick Funyak, Senior Category Manager I, recognized Henkels & McCoy for its strong safety culture, commitment to protecting workers and the public and leadership in advancing industry safety standards.

Next, Rick Wirth, Category Manager IV, presented the Outstanding New Supplier Award to Cognistx for exceeding expectations in supporting the SQUARY AI chatbot for DLC’s website. Their partnership quickly became a valuable part of ongoing digital initiatives and customer engagement efforts.

Innovation remained a key focus throughout the event, as Brady Carver, Category Manager II, presented the Innovation Award to Itron for delivering next-generation grid technologies aligned with DLC’s long-term vision and commitment to creating value for customers.

The final recognition of the day, the Dependability & Supply Chain Resiliency Award, was presented by Sara Dadig, Category Manager II, to Stella-Jones. The company was recognized for consistently delivering timely, accurate and cost-effective support, particularly during urgent operational needs and storm response efforts where reliability is essential.

Strengthening Partnerships for the Future

The Supplier Recognition event highlighted the importance of strong supplier relationships in supporting safe, reliable and innovative service for customers.

As the energy industry continues to evolve, these partnerships remain essential to delivering dependable service and advancing solutions that benefit the communities DLC serves.

On behalf of everyone at DLC, congratulations to this year’s award recipients!
