DLC Intern Volunteers Help to Clean Up Downtown Pittsburgh

On Friday, June 28, Duquesne Light’s 45 summer interns worked together with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership (PDP) to beautify areas of Downtown Pittsburgh. Beginning in Market Square, the interns picked up trash along 7th and 11th streets, as well as Penn Avenue, while weeding unwanted growth in the area.

As an integral part of Duquesne Light’s culture, volunteerism is an equally important component of the internship program. Just as employees from across the organization seek to assist the interns in gaining real-world experience and valuable skills through work within their disciplines, the Company also strives to reinforce its core values, including its strong commitment to the communities in which we live and work.
